How does it work?

Registration for the unofficial event

  • How can one participate in the unofficial challenge?
We have set up a Bike Commuters community on CERN’s SharePoint site; you can join this community by clicking on the button which is displayed on the home page of the community page:

or use the direct link to access your personal calendar.
  • How do I register my daily commuting?

1) set the distance in km
2) click on the date in the calendar to add a new ride.

Important:
– After you have entered the first ride to the calendar, the km setting will be remembered so that you do not have to re-enter it each time. However, if necessary, you can overwrite the km setting.
– You can not enter rides for a future date.
– We suggest to enter one ride per day, totalling the km you have biked on that day.

  • Can I modify an existing ride in my calendar?
Yes. Open your calendar and click on the entry concerned. The entry is displayed on a new web page; on its top you find buttons to edit and to delete the entry.

  • Where can I find the ranking?
On the home page of the Bike Commuters community two rankings are available, listing all participants:
– ranking by distance: counted are all km entered by a participant for the current year
– ranking by days of cycling: counted are all days with bike use of each participant. If you have entered more than one ride per day, it will count as one day, only.
By clicking on the name of a participant, you can access a list with his/her entries in chronological order. The total distance and the number of rides (not days with bike use) are displayed as well.
